From spending an afternoon floating down the Flathead River or fly fishing on nearby waters, to crowding around a campfire for a genuine Cowboy Cookout experience, Under Canvas is available to assist in arranging the perfect outdoor adventure in Montana’s rugged wilderness.

Cowboy Cookout

Length of Trip: 3.5 hours

Includes: Horseback Ride | Dinner

The Cowboy Cookout combines the favorite Montana pastimes of horseback riding and having a steak dinner but adds a little more adventure! Your cookout adventure begins with a horseback ride out to our outfitter camp. There, you’ll dismount your horses and enjoy a light appetizer as you gaze into the West Side skyline of Glacier. Meanwhile, your guide will prepare a traditional cowboy dinner of steaks over open flame, corn on the cob, baked beans, green salad, a roll and s’mores for dessert. After dinner, you’ll hop back on your trusty stead and head back to the corral, just as the sun sets over a perfect Montana evening.

*Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Celiac disease can not be accommodated.

 

Raft & Dinner Trip

Length of Trip: 4 – 5 hours
Tour Days & Times: Daily, 2:15 PM and 2:45 PM
Restrictions: Minimum Age 3 Years
Includes: Whitewater or Scenic Float Option | Dinner

Perfect for guests of all ages to see the of beauty of Montana. Each guest will enjoy stunning scenery and a gourmet riverside meal prepared by your guide on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. This portion of the Flathead is said to be the most beautiful stretch of water in the area. The dinner is your choice of chicken, steak, veggie burger, or buffalo burger along with potatoes, salad and a dessert.

*Minimum age for Whitewater option may be higher, dependent on water levels.

 

Whitewater Rafting

Half Day

Length of Trip: 4 hours
Tour Days & Times: Daily, 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM, 2:15 PM, 3:15 PM
Restrictions: Minimum Age 5 Years

The half day whitewater trip offers an exciting day of Class II-III rapids as well as breathtaking views along the boundary of Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Paddle your way down eight miles of classic Montana whitewater.

Full Day

Length of Trip: 8 hours
Tour Days & Times: Daily, 10:15 AM
Restrictions: Minimum Age 5 Years
Includes: Riverside Lunch

The full day whitewater trip begins with a scenic float stopping after for a riverside lunch (steak, chicken, hamburger or vegetarian). After lunch, guests enter the John Stevens Canyon where you paddle through some exciting class II and III rapids.

 

Llama Trekking 

Length of Trip: 5 hours
Tour Days & Times: Daily, 10:30 AM
Restrictions: Minimum Age 2 Years
Includes: Lunch

Lead a llama through the Flathead National Forest while seeing the unforgettable sights of the Swan and Mission Mountain Ranges. The guide will give you a brief orientation about llama facts and safety. Then the adventure begins! Enjoy a provided lunch near a bubbling creek or on a ridge as you venture around the Glacier wilderness area.

 

Fly Fishing

Length of Trip: Half Day (4 hours) | Full Day (8 hours)

Includes: Lunch w/ Full Day | Fishing Rods | Bait

The full day fly fishing trip allows guests to be on the water at first light and spend the entire day fishing the Flathead River. Professional fishing guides will do their best to provide guests with the best secret areas of water for fishing. You will enjoy a nice riverside lunch then continue fishing into the evening as the twilight settles over Glacier Country. These half day trips are great for those desiring a quality Montana fly fishing experience in a limited amount of time. Guests will fish the Flathead River along Glacier’s Southern border, established on classic cutthroat waters with gorgeous scenery.

For adventures such as fly fishing, whitewater rafting and llama trekking where space is limited, we recommend inquiring about reservations well in advance of your stay. Those who would like to book adventures prior to arrival may do so through our Adventures team up to seven days before check-in.

Book Your Adventure At Camp

Required for those within 7 days of arrival

If you are within seven days of your arrival date, we will happily assist in booking your adventure when you check-in at Under Canvas Glacier. Simply visit our on-site Guest Experience Coordinator at reception upon your arrival to plan your Montana adventure.

 


Any reservations coordinated by Under Canvas Inc. are operated by independent third-party vendors and not by Under Canvas Inc. or any of its affiliates, and Under Canvas Inc. acts only as a booking agent for such vendors. Rates, inclusions, and exclusions are subject to change at any time until the activity has been paid in full. All members and guests participating in the activities may have to agree to separate operator terms and conditions and may be required to sign a release of liability, waiver, assumption of risk, or other similar form prior to participation.

Adventures Cancellation Policy: If you are to cancel within 30 days of your reservation, you will not receive a refund. If you are to cancel prior to the 30-day window, you will receive a 95% refund. In the event of unsafe weather or other dangerous conditions, your guide may choose to cancel a trip. Guide canceled trips receive a full refund. Rainfall or a forecast of rain does not necessarily require a trip to be canceled.
