Day 1
You arrive August 19th in this majestic region passing awesome wildlife and beautiful vistas on the way to reach your accommodations, a comfortable king size tent surrounded by serene Montana foothills along the South Fork of the Madison River. Once you’ve settled in, you step out to enjoy the hospitality and tastes of a chef-prepared dinner amongst the stars at Embers, our on-site restaurant. After dinner, the sky fills with a light show of streaking meteors and crystal clear constellations. After a while, the comfort of the campfire gives way to cozying up in your plush bed with the wood-burning stove nearby. Then the combination of clean mountain air and a comfortable bed beckon you to a content sleep.
Day 2
Today is about exploring. You pick the adventure—something like horseback riding, fly fishing, white water rafting—and your Yellowstone Under Canvas team handles all the reservations and transportation arrangements. You spend this day taking in one amazing experience after another. Perhaps you cruise down rapids with an experienced river guide then stop along the banks to enjoy a delicious box lunch as you watch Yellowstone wildlife come to the river banks for a nice lunch of their own. In the afternoon you might take in an eruption of Old Faithful then see the way the evening light brings the Grand Prismatic Spring a whole new level of colorful majesty. Then, at the end of the day, you’ll again enjoy an amazing dinner at the Bar-N Ranch and the light show only the Yellowstone night sky can offer.
Day 3
Today is the day you witness a total solar eclipse! Of course, with a local expert guide showing you all the best spots, you’re sure to witness more than that. The day is spent touring the beautiful natural sites of Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. We’ll take you to all the best vistas and scout out wildlife like bison, bear, and moose along the way.
At approximately 11:30 am, it’s showtime for the sun. You’ll view the first total solar eclipse to pass over the U.S in the 21st century, and Under Canvas will make sure you’re seeing it in a beautiful setting. Your eclipse watch will take place from an amazing setting at Oxbow Bend with a clear view of the magic above plus the famed view of Moran Mountain reflected onto the Snake River right in front of you. After the Eclipse, we’ll enjoy lunch before heading back toward the camp through amazing sites along Jackson Lake and Moran Pass. Of course, dinner, drinks, stargazing and complete comfort await back at your glamping site.
Day 4
Start the morning with a hearty breakfast and breathe in the beauty of your beloved camp once again before departing. Whether you head straight home or onto another western adventure, you’ll bring along incredible memories from this once-in-a-lifetime Under Canvas Eclipse Adventure.
