Best Night for Viewing Neptune
Date: 09/20/2024
A ice giant known for its raging storms, Neptune is a reclusive planet rarely seen by the naked eye. However, when it is “in opposition”—meaning Neptune, Earth, and the sun are all in a straight line, with Earth in the middle—Neptune is visible for much of the night. During this annual event, Neptune rises around the time the sun sets, and it sets around the time the sun rises. Peek through our telescope and catch a glimpse of this cold, windy, blue planet in the sky.
