By staying at Under Canvas, you take part in our mission to inspire connections with extraordinary places, people, and the planet by enhancing access to the outdoors. Our mindful approach to upscale, outdoor hospitality fosters connection with family and friends while protecting and preserving the great outdoors. When you head out into nature and leave the modern world behind, you’re able to connect with your best outdoor self, your family, your loved ones, and the beauty of the natural world that surrounds you.
Back with our Outside Together series which speaks to our beliefs that nature is the best architect and unique experiences strengthen relationships, we’re sharing memories of a desert getaway to Under Canvas Bryce Canyon, our newest camp!
Joining us is Chloe Montoya (@_chloechloee on Instagram)—a content creator and entrepreneur from San Clemente, CA. Chloe is a lover of the outdoors and adventure and she couldn’t wait to explore the magic of Bryce Canyon, UT. She took a solo trip and surprised herself with how much she loved that freedom.
Check out some of her answers to our series questions.
1. Tell us what #OutsideTogether means to you…
It means connecting with others in nature, over the shared joy that being outdoors brings.
2. What was your favorite part about your stay at Under Canvas?
Wow, I’m not sure how to narrow this down! Of course, the tents are simply amazing and create the perfect space to relax… but I’d say my favorite part was the feeling I had while being there. At the last minute, I made this a solo trip, and it was the perfect place to be alone with my thoughts and feel so at peace with myself. I also had some amazing conversations with others staying at the camp, and it was so fun to meet at the fire after our days of adventuring and connect with others. The overall vibe at Under Canvas is unbeatable.
3. Any must-sees/must-dos in the area?
I really enjoyed doing the Queens Garden hike! I also loved the hammock hangout spot at camp.
5. Top 3 things to pack for a stay with Under Canvas?
Cozy slippers, your favorite mug, and a new journal.
6. Which Under Canvas location would you choose next, and why?
I would love to visit Glacier! I’ve never been and it looks so beautiful, I can tell the air is so fresh and crisp there.
6. Anything else to add?
I just want to say thank you too to all of the employees at Under Canvas. Everyone I’ve talked to was so helpful and kind.
I even spoke with a woman who was also traveling alone, on a soul-searching trip after her husband recently passed away. She said she spoke with someone over email about her circumstances, and when she arrived there were flowers and a heartfelt note in her room. I teared up a little when she told me this because it reminded me that there is so much kindness in the world. I appreciate you guys and all that you do to make this experience a special one.
