Mt. Rushmore and Flume Trail

Mt. Rushmore is the hot spot of the Black Hills and is a must see! Roam around the Great Faces and get to know the beauty and history of this National Monument. Partake in an exciting hike on the Flume Trail and witness the wildlife and foliage that it has to offer.

Badlands National Park

This National Park brings visitors from all around the world. Join a professional guide as you and your group explore the area on foot. Sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles and spires make up over 240,000 acres of this national gem; there is no other place like this!

Spearfish Canyon

There are multiple hiking options throughout this limestone gorge in the Black Hills. Spearfish Creek inhabits the canyon floor while many waterfalls flow into the creek from the towering red cliffs. Great site seeing and exploring in this area; don’t miss it!

Devil’s Tower National Monument

Located in Wyoming, but still part of the Black Hills, Devil’s Tower stands at a whopping 1,200 feet! Considered a geological wonder to all, the tower and its surrounding areas are a hot spot for hikers and adventurer seekers alike.

Cruise through the beautiful Black Hills on your choice of Mountain Bike or Comfort Bike. Ride through some of the most beautiful parts of the Black Hills on the Mickelson Trail. Whether you are a bike enthusiast or the average traveler, this trail is easily manageable for the entire family.


Kayaking & Stand Up Paddleboard Tour

Push and paddle in one of the largest lakes in Western South Dakota. Pactola Lake is the perfect landscape for a guided paddleboard and kayak tour as there is so much to see and experience. Take it slow and breathe in that mountain air; get out and swim around or hop onto a cliff and dive in.


Gold Panning & Swimming Hole

Length of Trip: 4 hours

Spend the day exploring a genuine Black Hills gold claim while learning to pan for gold in the same gold-rich streams that brought early miners to this area in the 1800’s. Before, after or during the gold panning, cool off at a near-by swimming hole with your friends and family.

For adventures such as horseback riding and private bike tours where space is limited, we recommend inquiring about reservations well in advance of your stay. Those who would like to book adventures prior to arrival may do so through our Adventures team up to seven days before check-in.

Book Your Adventure At Camp

Required for those within 7 days of arrival

If you are within seven days of your arrival date, we will happily assist in booking your adventure when you check-in at Under Canvas Mount Rushmore. Simply visit our on-site Guest Experience Coordinator at reception upon your arrival to plan your adventure.


Any reservations coordinated by Under Canvas Inc. are operated by independent third-party vendors and not by Under Canvas Inc. or any of its affiliates, and Under Canvas Inc. acts only as a booking agent for such vendors. Rates, inclusions, and exclusions are subject to change at any time until the activity has been paid in full. All members and guests participating in the activities may have to agree to separate operator terms and conditions and may be required to sign a release of liability, waiver, assumption of risk, or other similar form prior to participation.

Adventures Cancellation Policy: If you are to cancel within 30 days of your reservation, you will not receive a refund. If you are to cancel prior to the 30-day window, you will receive a 95% refund. In the event of unsafe weather or other dangerous conditions, your guide may choose to cancel a trip. Guide canceled trips receive a full refund. Rainfall or a forecast of rain does not necessarily require a trip to be canceled.
