Under Canvas Announces New England Expansion with New White Mountains Location

2026 reservations now available for newest camp in New Hampshire

Denver, Colo. (October 14, 2025) — Today, Under Canvas, the leader in upscale, outdoor hospitality, announced Under Canvas White Mountains is set to open in June of 2026. This marks the brand’s second location in New England and its first in New Hampshire. As Under Canvas continues to solidify its presence in the Northeast, this newest location not only deepens the brand’s regional footprint but also invites travelers to experience the magic of a New England road trip—connecting the beauty of Maine’s rugged coast with the tranquility of New Hampshire’s mountains.

Set on 86 scenic acres, the new camp offers breathtaking views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range—known locally as “the Prezzies”— and is surrounded by rolling meadows, lush forests and orchards. Located on the quieter western side of the White Mountains, this area offers easy access to serene outdoor recreation, scenic mountain vistas, forested hiking trails, and charming local treasures—from orchard-fresh apples to rich maple syrup.

Following the success of Under Canvas Acadia in Maine and creating a perfect New England road-trip pairing, this new camp provides guests with convenient access to White Mountain National Forest—one of the most visited national forests in the U.S. Within a short drive, guests can explore Franconia Notch State Park, the Kancamagus Highway, and the iconic Mount Washington Cog Railway. The camp is also just a short distance from charming gateway towns including Littleton, Bethlehem, and Lancaster. From Appalachian Trail hikes and Connecticut River boating to mountain and gravel biking, and vibrant fall foliage viewing, Under Canvas White Mountains is the perfect basecamp for seasonal outdoor adventure. Guests can also experience the area’s rich rural charm, from covered bridges and maple sugar shacks to ski resorts transformed into summer recreation hubs and cideries.

“With the launch of Under Canvas White Mountains, we’re deepening our presence in the Northeast and expanding access to some of the region’s most iconic outdoor destinations,” said Matt Gaghen, CEO of Under Canvas. “The White Mountains have long been a beloved road trip destination for East Coast travelers, and this location allows us to offer an exceptional upscale base camp experience within easy reach of major metro markets, including Boston and New York City. From summit views to scenic drives and endless trails, this camp is a gateway to everything that makes New England’s natural beauty so unforgettable.”

Under Canvas White Mountains features safari-inspired canvas tents, blending rustic charm with modern comfort featuring West Elm furnishings and thoughtfully curated amenities. Each tent includes a private deck with forested and agricultural views, an ensuite bathroom with a pull-chain shower, sink and flushing toilet, king-size bed, luxe linens, bedside lanterns, a wood-burning stove, and USB battery packs. Guests can choose from a variety of tent types, including the brand’s unique Stargazer Tent, which features a sky-viewing window above the bed, a spacious Suite Tent and the ultimate tent type for families or groups, the Mount Washington Suite—two tents connected by a private deck and outdoor lounge.

Onsite, guests can enjoy fresh, seasonal café-style dining that will draw inspiration from local flavors and regional ingredients, and enjoy programming such as live music, yoga, and outdoor games, all centered around communal fire pits that encourage connection and community. Set against stunning sunrises over the Presidential Range and sunsets across the Connecticut River Valley, the camp offers an immersive and serene natural experience. A dedicated Guest Experience Coordinator is available to help plan activities such as guided hiking, rafting, and mountain biking. Additionally, guests benefit from premium brand partnerships—providing curated gear and essentials for a comfortable, stylish stay.

A defining element of the Under Canvas experience is its Mindful Approach—a commitment to sustainability, minimal land disturbance, and thoughtful design that harmonizes with the environment. Under Canvas camps are designed to minimize disturbance, maximize open space, and flow with the natural topography of the land. In an effort to reduce energy and water usage, Under Canvas camps feature pull-chain showers, low-flow toilets, and rechargeable battery packs to charge personal appliances and bed-side lanterns. To encourage guests’ immersion in nature, Wi-Fi is not available for guest use at camp. The brand’s commitment to minimizing light pollution and protecting the night sky via low-level lighting and other DarkSky development principles are setting the standard in the industry and, in-turn, earned Under Canvas recognition for having the first-ever DarkSky-certified resorts in the world.

Reservations at Under Canvas White Mountains are now available, with rates starting from $279 per night, plus taxes and fees. To learn more about Under Canvas and its existing camp locations or book your upcoming stay, go to www.undercanvas.com. For additional assets, please visit here.
