UNDER CANVAS BRYCE CANYON NOW OPEN

Pioneers in the outdoor hospitality industry unveil 10th camp in 10 years, in Southwestern Utah

BOZEMAN, Mont. (August 10, 2022) – Today, Under Canvas – the leader in upscale, outdoor hospitality – announced its 10th camp location, Under Canvas Bryce Canyon in Southwest Utah, is now open for its inaugural season. Located on 750 acres of breathtaking and secluded high mountain plains, Under Canvas Bryce Canyon boasts expansive views of Mt. Dutton to the west stretching 180 degrees to the Escalante Mountains in the east. In keeping with the company’s Mindful Approach ethos, the camp is truly “off-the-grid,” where it functions on fully renewable energy, powered by a self-sustaining, onsite solar array.

Situated 15 minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park, the new camp is ideally positioned to provide unparalleled access to several of the country’s most desirable national parks and landscapes. Under Canvas Bryce Canyon will be the fifth addition to the brand’s collection of Grand Circle locations: alongside sister camps near Grand Canyon, Moab, Zion and Lake Powell-Grand Staircase, creating a seamless journey around the nation’s most iconic national parks, defining the ultimate American road-trip.

Under Canvas Bryce Canyon will offer 50 safari-style canvas tents, all sitting on elevated decks with private ensuite bathrooms and surrounded by the juniper forest where sightings of roaming elk and pronghorn are common amongst the expansive grounds. At 7,600 feet in elevation, the camp provides optimal weather conditions and is conveniently located near the area’s famed, crimson-colored hoodoos, Dixie National Forestland and multiple national parks and monuments. Naturally designed for spatial distancing, each Under Canvas location is made up of safari-inspired canvas lodging tents which are furnished with plush king size beds, luxe linens, USB charging packs, bedside lanterns and a wood burning stove. Unique lodging tent accommodations include the Stargazer Tent, complete with its own viewing window above the king bed to stargaze at night, and, exclusive to Under Canvas Bryce Canyon, the Hoodoo Suite Tent, featuring two tents adjoined by a private deck, a private firepit and an outdoor area for families or groups.

“With access to the outdoors being more in demand than ever, delivering a new opportunity for travelers to get outside and connect with nature at our 10th camp couldn’t be more exciting,” said Matt Gaghen, Under Canvas Chief Executive Officer. “The Bryce Canyon region is known for exceptional hiking and biking with beautiful landscapes and ready-access to multiple national parks and monuments. Given the popularity of this destination, Under Canvas Bryce Canyon is a highly anticipated addition to the brand’s camps along the Grand Circle. We’re thrilled to expand our number of locations along this wildly popular route of iconic national parks, while enhancing our multi-camp itinerary within one trusted, upscale brand experience.”

Under Canvas Bryce Canyon is equipped with upscale amenities including West Elm furnishings and complimentary on- and off-site adventure programming in collaboration with local outfitters. The camp features indoor and outdoor dining for breakfast and dinner, featuring signature, regionally-inspired dishes, in addition to healthy grab-n-go items for lunch. The camp also brings coffee culture to the outdoors with premium espresso beverages from lifestyle brand Bluestone Lane. Additionally, like-minded brand partnerships provide access onsite to activewear and accessories from Lululemon, Sun Bum sun products, Pendleton® wool products to stay cozy and warm, and an exclusive Under Canvas line of apparel and dog-friendly items for all family members to sleep under the stars in comfort and style. To showcase its distinctive landscape, the new camp centers around a lobby lounge tent and an expansive outdoor patio with fire-pits with complimentary goodies for nightly s’mores.

A cornerstone of the Under Canvas experience is the brand’s mindful approach. This includes pull chain showers, low flow toilets, rechargeable battery pack charging in tents, solar energy support and a towel reuse program that all work to minimize energy use. Under Canvas camps are designed to minimize intrusion and maximize open space, each with dedicated, undisturbed green spaces. The camps are designed to flow with the natural topography of the land to eliminate unnecessary earthwork. New this year, Under Canvas and global environmental nonprofit The Nature Conservancy (TNC) have come together to help fund conservation and raise awareness through education, volunteer efforts and donation programs. The brand’s commitment also includes efforts to minimize overall environmental footprint in the areas of waste management, water use, and special lighting that minimizes light pollution to maximize the enjoyment of the striking night’s sky.

Since opening the first camp 10 years ago near West Yellowstone, Under Canvas has dedicated itself to inspiring connections with extraordinary places, people and the planet by enhancing access to the outdoors. The inaugural season for the Bryce Canyon camp is August 4 – September 26, 2022, with its regular season running May through September.
