Santa Fe FAQs

  • What is the closest airport to Under Canvas Santa Fe?

The Santa Fe regional airport (SAF) is the closest airport to camp, while the Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) in Albuquerque, NM is the closest major airport.

  • How far is Under Canvas Santa Fe from downtown Santa Fe?

About 18 miles — roughly 25 minutes via US-285. Long enough to leave the city lights behind and let the stars take over, short enough that a gallery afternoon on Canyon Road or dinner downtown is an easy addition to your stay.

  • What is the best time of year to visit Santa Fe?

We’re open April through October, and each month in that stretch has its own draw. Spring brings mild days and wildflowers waking up the high desert. Summer stays comfortable even at its peak, since Santa Fe’s 7,000-foot elevation keeps evenings cool no matter how warm the days get — plus it’s prime season for the Santa Fe Opera and the region’s festival calendar. September and October are a local favorite: cooler days, golden aspens in the mountains above camp, and the chile harvest scenting the whole region. Whenever you visit, plan for warm days and genuinely cold nights, and pack layers accordingly.

  • What makes glamping near Santa Fe unique?

Most glamping puts you near one big view — a canyon, a park, a peak. Santa Fe gives you the high desert and a storied small city within reach of each other: piñon-and-juniper country at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains by day, a world-class restaurant, gallery, or the Santa Fe Opera by night, then back to a sky dark enough for the Milky Way.

  • What outdoor activities are available near Under Canvas Santa Fe?

There’s a lot to reach from camp: hiking trails through Santa Fe National Forest and the Sangre de Cristo foothills, the pueblo ruins and river trails at Pecos National Historical Park, mountain biking and hiking at the Galisteo Basin Preserve, fly fishing along the Pecos River, and horseback rides through old wagon trails with local outfitters.
