Top 5 Reasons Why You’ll Love Under Canvas Acadia

We’re thrilled that our first Northeast location is now bookable and cannot wait to welcome you and your family, friends and loved ones next spring to enjoy the beauty of Maine at Under Canvas. Under Canvas Acadia is now bookable for May 13 – October 11, 2021. Here are five reasons you are going to love your stay at Under Canvas Acadia.

It’s the First Northeast and waterfront location

Under Canvas Acadia is our very first Northeast location, located in Surry, Maine. It’s the ideal basecamp to visit Acadia National Park; the perfect weekend getaway from several east coast cities including Boston, Portland, New York and more. Not only that, but it is also Under Canvas’s first waterfront location. Enjoy water recreation just steps from camp in the picturesque Union River Bay, or enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the coastal waters after a day of exploration. We couldn’t be more excited to be offering new locations and new landscapes for you to explore and love.

More than 1,200 feet of untouched Maine coastline

Our Acadia location lays claim to 100 beautiful acres of land with over 1,200 feet of untouched Maine coastline at it’s edge. This means waterfront views for days. Enjoy our expansive waterfront lobby tent with a sprawling outdoor dining area overlooking Union River Bay. Not only that, but several tents offer waterfront views from their private tent deck. Fall asleep to the sound of lapping water on the shore and wake to the sun rising above the water’s edge. Start your day with waterfront yoga and continue it with stand up paddling or kayaking in the bay. If you’re thinking about hosting a wedding or special event, be sure to check out our waterfront private event space on property.

Views of the Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park

Enjoy views of Acadia National Park and the famed Cadillac Mountain from our new Acadia location. Cadillac Mountain is the highest point on the North Atlantic seaboard and the first place to view sunrise in the United States October 7 through March 6. Enjoy hiking the mountain during the day and views of it from your safari-inspired canvas tent by night.

It’s the perfect place to go leaf peeping in the North East

Our first northeast location immerses guests in the beauty and lush New England environment of emerald green spruce and fir tree forests, with sweeping lawns that reach to the water. During the fall, the foliage that surrounds our accommodations turn gold, burnt orange and red, creating an explosion of fall colors around camp. Leaf peeping season in Maine typically starts in late September, providing a month or more of New England fall glamping glory at Under Canvas Acadia.

Coastal West Elm furnishings

Offering upscale amenities in the outdoors, our Acadia location (along with many others) are fitted with modern furnishings from West Elm. The new Acadia location will have a unique flare to it’s West Elm furnishings with an emphasis on natural wood and other materials native to coastal environments. Enjoy Northeast accents and coastal hues at Under Canvas Acadia, intertwining the coastal Maine vibe throughout the entire camp, outside and in.

We look forward to welcoming you at Under Canvas Acadia in 2021. Don’t wait, book your New England getaway now!
